Mr DJ

Mr DJ
Zane Lowe rocking the radio ga ga

Wednesday 5 January 2011

In Zane Lowe, I trust!

Is he marmite? Is it a love-hate relationship?

As an avid Moylesy fan, tuning in to Radio 1 religiously each grey morning to help wittle away my 100mile Manchester commute (well, almost 100miles), I was suprised this morning to be awoken in more than one sense of the word.

Given the January blues, I now take my (woolly) hat off to the Kiwi for giving me a new breath of life for 2011.

I actually felt moved by his colourful musical rants and passionate pop/anti-pop decalarations! Finally, god is a DJ. (Bit strong)

I can, however, understand how many people find him to be one of the most annoying voices to plummet into the depths of their ears, afterall he does epitomize an excitable labrador puppy on drugs, but come on... it's refreshing to shake-off the typically English persona and smile!

Never before have I heard a single human being make a 7.38am broadcast sound so inviting.
Moylesy is the best, to be sure to be sure, let's not make this a criticism about the infamous Chris Moyles Morning Breakfast Show - guarranteed to make you laugh out loud into your coffee.

But the New Zealander is raw talent. Fact. With his usual 7pm show, the big cheeses at Radio 1 have made the best decision ever, for me anyway.
Stripping our commercialised society of its mundane, brain-washed, repeated hits, Zane Lowe should be knighted in my book for his off-the-record influence, as the guy clearly puts 199% into every minute of air time.

Some may say he's a jobsworth. Others may agree that he is a tuneful father figure for those wanting to listen to some real music, where they actually play guitars and hit drums and don't sing about love and wear JLS' clothes.

Mr Lowe, you made my morning, I SALUTE YOU!
